In order to minimize the carbon footprint, a golden rule for current aircraft design is to reconcile the sometimes
contrarian constraints of performance vs. lightweight in order to achieve a significant reduction in fuel consumption.
As a first step, a highly suitable part to improve the energy-efficiency of an aircraft would be a bracket. Objective: Find
a new bracket design that is energy-efficient as a result of its lightweight properties but won’t sacrifice safety, and can
be produced in a cost-efficient way.
